On October 19, 2025, the Kusatsu Town Chamber of Commerce Festival \u201cYubatake Marche 2025\u201d was held at Yuriji Plaza in Kusatsu Onsen.<\/p>\n

This annual autumn event is a long-standing tradition in Kusatsu, bringing together many locals and tourists for a lively and vibrant day.<\/p>\n

Around 20 local vendors\u2014bakeries, diners, caf\u00e9s, flower shops, and more\u2014gathered for the Yubatake Marche.<\/p>\n

Kusatsu Onsen Coworking, which is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, was given the opportunity to participate\u2014and we made our very first appearance at the event!<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s event came with a slightly new concept:
\nin addition to the usual market theme, it also served as a \u201cshowcase for new products and services.\u201d
\nEach vendor prepared special items just for the Marche, resulting in a wonderful lineup of unique offerings.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a look at the Marche, where Kusatsu\u2019s unique \u201cdelicious\u201d and \u201cfun\u201d came together\u2014creating many new connections.^^<\/p>\n

Our First Booth! Bringing Color to Touji Plaza<\/h2>\n

At our booth, we introduced the services of the coworking space while also selling sweets from Porta Rossa, a new business launched by one of our staff members and their spouse.

It has been 1 year and 8 months since we opened in February 2024.
\nAlthough Kusatsu Onsen Coworking has grown thanks to the incredible support of the local community, many residents still don\u2019t know about us\u2014or are unsure what a coworking space is.<\/p>\n

For us, the staff who want more local residents to know about the space and use it meaningfully, the chance to meet so many townspeople face-to-face at Yubatake Marche was invaluable.<\/p>\n

That said, since it was our very first time, we were quite anxious during preparation\u2014
\nWill people come? Will they enjoy what we offer?<\/p>\n

And after a hectic morning, we even opened about 30 minutes late.
\nBut the moment we opened, a line formed!<\/p>\n

People gathered all at once, saying \u201cWe\u2019ve been waiting!\u201d<\/p>\n

New Connections\u2014Made Possible Because of the Event<\/h2>\n

\u3000<\/p>\n

Among those who stopped by, some showed interest in the coworking space and asked questions such as:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always been curious\u2014can anyone use the coworking space?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI live between two places and will return to Kusatsu this summer. Does the space get crowded during Obon?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIs it okay to stop by not for work but just to rest or chat a bit?\u201d<\/p>\n

We were thrilled that many people approached us before we even said hello.
\nIt truly felt like these encounters were made possible because we took part in a town event.<\/p>\n

We often found ourselves diving into explanations like:<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course! Anyone can use the coworking space\u2014even for things other than work. Some people come after their job to study for certifications or work on digital art\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Or suddenly realizing we already knew each other:<\/p>\n

\u201cHave we met before? Wait\u2014you’re from that soba restaurant! I had lunch there recently!\u201d<\/p>\n

Others stopped by casually just to pick up a flyer.<\/p>\n

\nWe hope residents will feel like they have an extra \u201cliving room\u201d in town.<\/p>\n

Supported by the People of Kusatsu<\/h2>\n

Meeting new people was an incredible gift, but what moved us most was the number of familiar locals who came by.<\/p>\n

People stopped on their way to work, stepped away from their own booths, visited during shop breaks, or even waited for us to open.<\/p>\n

Some bought sweets and immediately came back to share their impressions;
\nothers stayed and chatted about life in Kusatsu and their hopes for the future.<\/p>\n

Each and every person gave us energy\u2014and thanks to that support, we were able to finish the day strong.<\/p>\n

\"\" \uff08A small seating space beside our booth became a casual gathering spot\uff09<\/p>\n

Thinking About What We Can Do for Kusatsu<\/h2>\n

Through this event, we feel we succeeded in our goal of helping more locals learn about Kusatsu Onsen Coworking.
\nWe also gained many opportunities to talk with residents, which led to new insights and ideas.
\nHow can we make the coworking space more useful for the town?
\nWhat kind of place would make people genuinely happy?
\nWe now have many \u201cassignments\u201d to reflect on\u2014and we plan to use them to improve the coworking space going forward.
\n\u201cKusatsu Onsen is known for its hot springs\u2014but also for its warm-hearted people.\u201d
\nWe hope that the visitors who came to the Marche felt that same warmth.
